How does the orthotics process work?

Orthotic Foot Assessment

Custom Orthotics St. Albert

Your first step is a comprehensive foot assessment where we examine your feet, analyze your gait, and take a mold used to build your custom orthotics (also known as insoles or foot arches). Please bring the shoes you plan to wear with your orthotics most often.

Before your appointment, we recommend:

  • Getting a doctor’s prescription (required for insurance claims; can be obtained before or after your visit).

  • Contacting your insurance provider for a predetermination to confirm coverage and required documents for submitting an insurance claim.

  • Wearing or bringing the shoes you use most frequently.

At your appointment:

  • We take detailed measurements and create a foot mold

  • Payment is collected at this time

  • You’ll receive an invoice for your records

Meet Nelson

Custom-made orthopedic footwear specialist holding a foot mold for orthotics.

Nelson is a licensed Certified Orthopedic Footwear Specialist (COFS) and has 34 years of experience making Orthotics. What he has in his hand is a foot mold. On your foot assessment Nelson will have you step into the foot mold where an impression of your foot will be made.
